1st December, the snow falls slowly outside, the first snow of this winter, marking the start of another christmas, what a fantastic day!
In Portugal is Restoration of Independence's day, so another reason to make this day a special day.
But there is something else... something that makes this 1st of December different from all the others 1st of Decembers that we have know and that we will come to know.
Today KarpeDiem is coming out with their new album "Suspenso no Ar". KarpeDiem is a Portuguese rock band, one of the few rock bands that keep, i will not say the old Rock, but the real Rock alive. Rock melodies and poetic texts, that leave us speakers of the "Camões language" suspended in the air. I had the privilege to be a little part of this adventure, when i was asked by them to illustrate something for the new CD.
I made 4 different sketches, and i know they decided to use the "birds", but i don't know how and where, i am waiting anxious for the exemplar they sended to me.
But the how and where they used my art is not the point, the point is that i would love to be there today, for their "premiere" concert, and i cant. But from here, from the cold north i send you guys a really warm hug, and the wishes of a fantastic night.
Please Keep on Rocking!

Metallica!
We are almost there!
The day after tomorrow, it is going to happen. We are going to step in a time machine and travel back in time, or at least some of us are. Me and my good friends, Ronni, Jesper and Eduardo are going to Metallica concert, so it is time to take that to small old black grayish t-shirt out of the closet, and play a 20 years old metal fan again. Jeez we are getting old!! But Metallica guys are getting even older, i just saw a picture of Lars in Rock in Rio and i swear he looks like Phil Collins :D The only thing that does not get old is their music, it still's good as it was back in the days, i am sure i am going to see Metallica fans much older than me, and other much younger, that is the beauty of music, or real music at least, never gets old, never dies.
I wonder if in 20 years from now people will still listen to Bieber?... ok back to the topic and the real music, i just wanted to share this anxiety and happiness with you guys. I know that are many out there that do not like metal, i know that are many as well that like metal and think that Metallica is not real metal anymore, well i am going to tell you again, stop labeling everything. When i was a kid i thought that only heavy metal was music, today i listen as much to hip hop, rock, pop, dub, electronic ... and the list goes on and on... there is nothing like the "only music", that is only good and bad music (and Bieber music :/ ), thats it!
And wether you want it or not Metallica is good music.
I hope you all are doing well, i am going to party hard and head-bang so much that probably 2 day after the concert i still will not be able to move my neck, see you around!

Sketching Danni T.
Some time ago i went to a Hip Hop concert, Pato Siebenhaar + warm up Danni Toma and IconAclass. My feeling was that the concert was happening backwards, Normally the warm up bands should be the ones that warm up for the main ones, but as i saw Mr. Toma giving 200% up on stage, i could not stop but think, "Where is the warm up band to this Guys?" Danni Toma and his band were motherfucking stars, and i was sure that the concert could not get better, and it didn't! IconAclass was so boring that people left the place after 5 minutes, and when Pato turn came, the mood was so down that i thought it would be impossible to continue. But Pato Siebenhaar didn't let us down, and he too delivered a fantastic concert.
So now i am sitting here, my drawing tablet in front of me and Danni Toma on my iTunes, this must be the most chill Hip Hop ever made, i listen to it almost everyday, and i am a Rock guy, but good music will always be good music and our homies Mr. Toma and Noodle are making, in my humble opinion, really good music. I hope they keep on the good work, and i can't wait to see them live again.
Peace!!

Behind the Music!!
Bag Nummeret is out and i am loving it!
A new music blog about Danish music has been online now since the 26th of March. The blog is in danish and about danish musicians, and that is why i had some doubts about which language i should write this post, but then i decided to do it in english - let the world be inspired!
The concept in "Bag Nummeret" is pretty cool; the writers pick a band/musician and a song and make an interview out of it. I know it sounds really simple but it is much more than that. The 3 writers behind the blog are really good at it, and they made the interviews sound like something else - as if you are inside head of the musicians, listening to their thoughts. Suddenly the song that you know so well, starts to transform into something else, when you hear the story behind it, how it came to life, the process from scratch to "hit", and the meaning behind it. You hear their opinions ans inspirations and the story told by the artists themselves - and somehow i feel really close to them when i am reading the blog entries! Until today they have interviewed musicians like Tone, Raske Penge and Suspekt who i love, and it gave me the opportunity to get to know new ones like Vessel and Noir & Haze and i am really thankful for that :D
This is definitely a blog for music lovers, and i am one of them. When i was a kid my music taste was really limited, today it is as wide as it can get, i listen to everything, from trash-metal to house passing through hip-hop, indie, punk, classic bla bla bla... and i see in "Bag Nummeret" not only a blog where i can read about my favorite bands or music, but a place where i can get to know a lot of new ones too. So if you are danish and you don't know the blog, go and take a look at it, i promise you it is worth it.
Peace!

Sketching a Feeling!!
Sometimes i sit here in the dark, looking out of the window... alone... iTunes for company!
And i let the music flow, from old Seattle grunge to hip hop, passing by Metal, Dub and Chill out, it does not matter, music is music!
And only music can give me this feeling of being above the clouds, on the top of the world, watching a sunset or a sunrise.
I think i do not need to say much more, you can feel it... turn of the lights, put some music on and go and sit by the window... feel the iFairy :D
Peace!

Sketching Manson
A friend of mine just posted a youtube clip of Manson in 97 in a Portuguese festival called Sudoeste.
I was there, together with a bunch of amazing good friends, one of them, and probably the bigest Manson fan of our group, is not with us anymore.
So Luis wherever you are... this post is for you.
This was the best concert of our life and we were together!!
I miss you!
